Nerve Cells

wikipedia
Nerve cells are found in the brain, spinal cord and in the sympathetic ganglia.Nerve cells look like microscopic starfish with a central body containing a nucleus and having threadlike processes extending in all directions.these threads are called "dendrites" they keep branching out  and connect with the dendrites of other nerve cells. But each nerve cell has one thread called the axon, which is longer than the rest and does not branch out but combines with axons of other nerve cells forming the nerves.

The axons or axis-cylinders, as they are often called, carry the impulses to-and-fro between the outer world, the skin, special senses of the body, and the central nerveous system
