Cataract

cataract is a disease of the eye characterized by a hardening and loss of transparency of the eye lens or its covering membrane (capsule). this disease may affect the lens only partially or totally. It is said that about 95 % of peoople past 60 have some degree of cataract formation

Overstrain of the eyes for long periods, defective vision uncorrected by glasses, prolongede exposure of the eyes to intense heat or light (as by workers in steel foundries, glass blowers, or stage people) may cause cataract.Injuries to the eye ,like cotusions or perforations, and systemic disease, like diabetes, kidney disease, influenza, malaria or disease of other parts of the eye may cause cataract.some people are born with cataracts

the symptoms of cataract begin with misty vision, which progresses to a fogginess and a blurring of objects.this cloudiness may affect the entire field of vision or it may seem like a circumscribed spot in the centre of the field.
People suffering with such symptoms should place themselves under the care of an eye doctor, not under an optician's care
